Imanol was born in Mexico City. His father introduced him to the theater at the early age of 2 in the musical "Que Planton". Later Imanol showed much interest in his father's work and decided to try it. He participated in Chiquilladas (1982), Plaza Sésamo (1972), and at the age of 9, got his first role in the film La última llamada (1996), receiving the Heraldo Award for debuting actor.
