Ira Malaniuk was an Austrian operatic contralto of Ukrainian descent, who sang a wide range of roles from Mozart to contemporary works.
Malaniuk was born in Stanyslaviv, Second Polish Republic. She studied first in Lviv with Adam Didur, and later in Vienna with Anna Bahr-Mildenburg. She made her stage debut in Graz in 1945.
