Born in Genoa, he studies piano and starts playing flute and guitars in various rock bands of the town. The Europe-wide success comes with the band Delirium in early '70s, but after one album Fossati chooses a solo career, moving toward quality songwriting in the '80s when he writes and produces a number of album and songs for the greatest singers of Italian music.
