Maude Nugent was an American singer and composer.
Maude Nugent was born in Brooklyn, NY, and began her career in vaudeville, achieving tremendous success in 1896 with her song Sweet Rosie O'Grady, which became the archetypal waltz ballad of the 1890s. Over the next few years Nugent's songs included Mamie Reilly, I can't forget you, honey and Somebody wants you, but none were more than minor successes.
