Jazz vibraphonist and percussionist Frank Ricotti was born on January 13, 1949 in London, England. Born into a musical family, Ricotti decided to follow in his drummer father's footsteps by taking up percussion. Frank played in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as a teenager before going on to attend the Trinity College of Music in London, England from 1967 to 1970.
