Nehemiah Curtis Skip James was an American Delta blues singer, guitarist, pianist and songwriter. Born in Bentonia, Mississippi, United States, he died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He first learned to play guitar from another bluesman from the area, Henry Stuckey.
