Lewis was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Marlene, a nursing administrator, and Jim Lewis, an air traffic supervisor. She has a sister, Denise. She most recently starred as Countess Lili in Darko Tresnik's production of 'Anastasia' on Broadway. She starred as Velma Kelly in the Broadway revival of 'Chicago' opposite Charlotte d'Amboise, and played Gloria Thorpe in the Broadway revival of 'Damn Yankees', directed by Jack O'Brien.
