Henry "Hank" Mobley was an American tenor saxophonist and composer, known for his work in hard bop and soul jazz. Mobley recorded prolifically in the late '50s and early '60s, and was famously described as the "middleweight champion of the tenor" referring to his style and tone. Mobley was a founding member of The Jazz Messengers, along with Horace Silver and Art Blakey.
