Factory worker Viktor Belov was beaten in a park by two teenagers. One of them was sentenced to two years in a penal colony with a high security regime, the other also receives two years, but on probation. Belov still works at the plant. Engaged in sports - "hunting for foxes." However, Belov doubts the fairness of the sentences. He begins to travel to the colony to the convict, unsuccessfully trying to "reach out" to him.
