American composer, conductor and arranger, who began as piano accompanist for Feodor Chaliapin Sr.. In 1926, Lubin became musical director of New York's Irving Palace Theatre at the age of twenty. During the 1930's and 40's, he worked extensively on Broadway and in radio ("Glamour Manor", 1945-53). He served as musical director of Letter to Loretta (1953) for which he wrote the theme song.
