Hi-Tension were a North London based band, seen as pioneers of Brit funk and started as Hott Waxx in the early 1970s. They included Phil Fearon and Lloyd Phillips brother of guitarist Paul, before becoming Hi-Tension and riding high on the Brit funk wave with the tracks, Hi Tension and British Hustle.
The group was composed of brothers Paul McLean, Patrick McLean; brothers David Joseph and Ken Joseph; uncle and nephew Jeffrey Guishard Leroy Williams Paul Phillips David Reid and Courtney Pine.
