In 1907, workers in northern Chile organized a massive strike aiming to improve the living conditions of thousands of miners and their families, who were ruthlessly exploited by foreign businessmen. The film portrays the Chilean oligarchy's response: the historic, violent suppression of the strike in the city of Iquique.
