In 2016, Kalis travels from a village in Solo to Yogyakarta with the hope of becoming a writer. In Yogya, she meets Agus, a writer and editor of Mojok. As they start dating, Kalis begins to be haunted by the trauma experienced by Rahayu, her close friend who was treated badly by her husband. This makes her distance herself from Agus, until finally, Agus feels tired and decides to end their relationship. Kalis feels sad and regretful. After returning to Solo, Kalis learns about the concept of "soulmate" from her father. Meanwhile, Agus also returns because he can't stop thinking about Kalis. As they reconnect, Agus understands the real reason behind Kalis' previous behavior: the complex problems experienced by her friend, Rahayu. With this new understanding, Agus and Kalis are finally able to understand each other better. Agus and his family propose to Kalis, and they decide to get married and build a life together.
